우정을 소재로 한 소박하고 유머가 넘치는 창작 그림책. 어느 마을에 사는 목수와 대장장이, 제빵사 사이의 우정을 그린 작품이다. 어느 날 나타난 쥐 한 마리 때문에 그들의 우정에 점차 금이 가게 되는데, 이 때 다른 사람의 도움으로 세 친구는 화해하고 함께 쥐를 몰아내는 데 성공한다. 정교하고 긴장감 넘치는 이야기이다. 민속적 디테일이 가득한 서사 형식에 기교가 돋보이는 그림이 맞물려 편안하고 어린아이 같은 순수함이 깃든 독특한 민속적 형식을 연출한다. 쥐잡기를 둘러싼 해학적인 이야기를 통해 아이들에게 민속 문학과 예술의 매력을 전달하는 동시에, 동양적 지혜로 가득한 작가의 철학도 아이들에게 성장을 위한 영감이 되어 줄 것이다.
이 책은 제33회 천보추이 국제아동문학상 올해의 그림책상을 수상했고, 2022년 이탈리아 볼로냐 국제아동도서전에서 최고의 어린이도서상을 받아 THE BRAW AMAZING BOOKSHELF에 선정되었다.

This is an original picture book about friendship with simple style and great humor. It tells the story of the friendship between a carpenter, a blacksmith and a pastry chef living in a village. Because of the arrival of a mouse, their friendship gradually cracked. Under the guidance of an outsider, the three friends were reconciled, worked together, and drove away the mouse. The story is rich in plot and suspense. The narrative style full of folk interest and the illustrations with artistic ingenuity complement each other, producing a unique folk style and a relaxed and childlike innocence. This comedy of catching the mouse can let children appreciate the charm of folk literature and art, while the author’s philosophical thinking full of Oriental wisdom will also bring them inspiration for growth.
The book won the Annual Picture Book Award of the 33rd Chen Bochui International Children’s Literature Award, and was selected into THE BRAW AMAZING BOOKSHELF for the Best Children’s Book Award at the 2022 Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy.
